Ruben van Keer as Esquivel in Bat Out Of Hell The Musical
Born and raised in Belgium, Ruben discovered his love for theatre at a young age.
After graduating in Physical Education, Ruben moved to The Netherlands to study Music Theatre at the Fontys Conservatoire. Whilst training he played Hamlet in Hamlet, Lysander in A Midsummer Night's Dream and Alan Strang in Equus. He gained professional theatre experience as Bernstein in Dogfight.
In 2016, he graduated from the Musical Theatre course at the Royal Academy of Music. Whilst training at the Royal Academy he played Robert in Company, directed by Sam Yates and Anthony in Sweeney Todd, directed by Michael Fentiman.
UK concert work includes: Musical Theatre Classics, directed by Stephen Brooker.
He was part of the original cast in Bat Out Of Hell The Musical. Since then he has played Wolfgang Mozart in Mozart - The Musical (Promo Live Ent NV, Vienna) and John in Knights of the Rose (West End). Most recently he performed as Graintaire in the UK Tour of Les Miserables.

Ruben van Keer played the role of Esquivel in the original cast of Bat Out Of Hell The Musical. He was with the show from it's world premiere in Manchester through to the end of the original 2017 London run. Throughout his time with the show, he was also understudy for the lead, Strat.
